You maybe right. You may be right about "RED" as for the others I was trying to address the "World View" of some of the organizations I was a part of. I think a persons internal development is usually much more complex than the cultural world views (religious, national, ethnic ect) which we lend ourselves to.

Thanks for sharing the history of your development.

I do have a few comments regarding the levels you have placed yourself at throughout your development however. Rather than using SD (which is a more accurate tool for business leadership IMO) I'd use Jane Loevinger's ego-development model. This model has been added to and expanded by the Harvard trained psychologist, Susan Cook-Greuter.

To start with, it appears that what you understood to be a "Purple" stage of development was actually an early Blue "Conformist" stage of development. You probably progressed through the Purple and Red stages before you entered grade school (as most people do).

The "Red/egocentric" stage that you describe, sounds more like the "self-aware" stage, which is a transitionary stage between "Blue" and "Orange". This stage is often described as the "Expert" stage because people at this stage often feel like they have it "all figured out".

The "Blue" period that you describe sounds more like an "Orange" stage to me. It's seems as if you joined the military (a blue institution) as a way of achieving personal goals (orange pragmatic thinking) rather than out of (blue) conformity.

The "Orange" stage that you describe actually sounds like more like an "Orange/Green" transitionary stage. Based on your description it sounds like you started to develop a "4th person understanding" of the world at this time which includes the realization of the relativity of things that are often taken as a given at earlier stages.

The "Green" stage sounds about right. It appears as if you're "center of gravity" is somewhere in the "Green", "Individualistic" range, probably with peaks in the "Yellow", Integral stages as well.
